DSA Secondary Admission Exercise 2025
DSA at Sembawang Secondary School
The school is inviting applications from current Primary 6 students for DSA in the talent area of Leadership.
The school provides a structured leadership development programme that offers opportunities for all students to develop their leadership at three different levels which are ‘Leading Self, Leading Peers and Leading Leaders”. Their leadership journey in the school includes opportunities for them to Learn, Lead and Serve both in school and the community.
Student Leaders in the school will be offered the following developmental opportunities:
· Learning about what it takes to be an effective leader through The Leadership Challenge model
· Assuming a key leadership role such as Student Councilor, CCA Leader, Peer Support Leader or Sports Leader
· Leading in planning and supporting various key school programmes and events
Application Process
Application for DSA-Sec can be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. The application is free-of-charge and will be open from 7 May 2025, 11am to 3 Jun 2025, 3pm.

Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are required to honour their commitment to the school and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from year 1-4/5.
Selection Process
The selection criteria are listed below:
1. Applicants should be passionate about serving others in school and community.
2. Applicants should demonstrate leadership attributes such as positive role modelling and building a positive team.
3. Applicants should have some prior experience in Student Leadership in primary school, such as Prefect, Peer Support Leader, Class Leader or CCA Leader.
The school will assess applicants through an in-person interview based on the selection criteria, which may include assessing the potential of the applicants.
Meeting all the criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted/given an offer.
Timeline
You will receive notification from the school by 18 Jul 2025, if your child has been shortlisted to undergo Direct School Admission (DSA) selection.
All applicants will receive their application outcomes between 25 Aug and 4 Sep 2025.
