Parent Support Group (PSG):
Partnering Parents, Empowering Students
The Sembawang Secondary School Parent Support Group (PSG) is a community of parents who work closely with the school to support the holistic development and well-being of our students.
We believe that every child thrives when parents and schools work hand in hand. Through meaningful engagement opportunities, parent education programmes and school events, the PSG serves as a bridge between home and school, fostering strong partnerships that support our students' learning, growth and character development.
Our PSG aims to:
Strengthen home-school partnerships through active parent involvement.
Empower parents with practical parenting knowledge and skills through workshops and sharing sessions.
Foster stronger parent-child relationships through meaningful bonding activities.
Promote open communication and collaboration between parents and the school.
Contribute to a caring, inclusive and supportive school community.
We warmly welcome all parents to join us in building a vibrant and supportive Sembawang Secondary School community.
Highlights of Our PSG Activities
The PSG actively supports and participates in a variety of school programmes and events throughout the year. These activities provide opportunities for parents, students and staff to connect, learn and grow together.
Parent-Child Bonding Activities
Our PSG organises engaging bonding sessions that encourage quality family time and strengthen parent-child relationships. Activities have included:
Badminton and friendly sports sessions
Gallery walk and photography workshops
Interactive parent-child engagement activities
These sessions provide valuable opportunities for parents and children to interact, communicate and create lasting memories together.
Our Parent-Child Engagement Programme brings families together through meaningful and interactive activities designed to strengthen communication, trust and understanding. Activities such as the “Knowing” Game encourage parents and children to discover more about one another while enjoying quality time together.
Complementing these activities, the Parenting Workshop equips parents with practical strategies and valuable insights to support their children's social, emotional and personal development.
Together, these initiatives reinforce the importance of positive parent-child relationships and strengthen the partnership between home and school in nurturing our students' growth and well-being.

CCA Selection
At Sembawang Secondary School, all Secondary 1 students are given approximately one month to explore and experience the various Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) offered by the school. This allows them to discover their interests, gain a better understanding of each CCA and make informed choices based on their strengths and aspirations.
Approximately 95% of our Secondary 1 students are allocated a CCA within their top three choices, reflecting the school's commitment to supporting students in pursuing their interests and developing their talents.
CCA Achievements
Our students have consistently demonstrated strong commitment and active participation in their CCAs. In 2026, more than 75% of our graduating students attained an Excellent grade for their CCA achievements.
This reflects their dedication, perseverance and leadership, as well as the school's commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals through meaningful CCA experiences.
